Timelapse of Railway Footbridge Replacement

In the early hours of 22 March, Network Rail successfully replaced the footbridge over the railway in Corsham as part of the programme towards electrification. To minimise disruption and any risk of the work overrunning, the new bridge was built off site and then, using a 500 tonne crane, was lifted over a block of flats into position.
Work is now taking place so that the new footbridge can open in June. This video, courtesy of Network Rail, is a great time lapse of the bridge being put into position.  Watch video >>
