On Armistice Day 2016, the first Centenary Field in Wiltshire was unveiled at The Batters in Corsham. This is to commemorate that in 1915/6 the Scots Guards used The Batters for training before heading off to fight in WW1. They were based at Corsham Court and this report includes old photographs of them digging trenches in The Batters by the railway line. The Centenary Field project was launched in 2014 by HRH The Duke of Cambridge and has brought together Corsham's Town Council with the Fields in Trust charity and the Royal British Legion.
