SID TV 2019: Your Choice or Mine - film for parents and carers

This video was made by the UK Safer Internet Centre and the Safer Internet Day team, aimed at parents and carers. They put young people and their parents head-to-head in a game show and asked them questions about consent online. They wanted to find out if parents and their children have the same or differing opinions on a range of online consent topics. Your Choice or Mine is a great conversation starter that lets parents and young people share views and learn from one another. Safer Internet Day's aim is to inspire conversation about using technology responsibly, respectfully, critically and creatively. Why not try this at home with your child(ren)?  Watch video >>

SID TV 2019: Digital Detectives - film for 7-11 year olds

This video has been made by the UK Safer Internet Centre, to support Safer Internet Day 2019. The Safer Internet team have created a Virtual Reality app, Digital Detectives, that allows 7-11 years to explore a virtual house while learning about consent online and the ways in which their information might be shared online. To best experience this film, you will need to download their Digital Detective app from the Play Store and use a pair of Virtual Reality goggles. These can be purchased very reasonably for around £5 - something like Google Cardboard or other similar products will work perfectly. This video is an illustration of how a group of pupils from Pinhoe Primary School used the app in their Safer Internet Day activity. It shows the app in action and the type of conversations it encourages in the classroom.  Watch video >>
